Self Love
Why doesn't it say anything in the Bible about loving ourselves? This is the most important thing that has to happen before we can love God and love others as ourselves. If God loves us deeply but we don't love ourselves how can we really love and have confidence in God? But it seems this is never taught in church in my experience, and we are taught to love God and love others but not also ourselves, and this leads to a frustrating and incomplete perspective. Once we can learn to love ourselves unconditionally and as we are, then we will also be able to love others in the same way, but not before. This is one of the main reasons why I no longer have faith in Christianity as an institution. These are just my ideas. What do you guys think?
Re: Self Love
Yes, I say Amen.
God's system is a perfect circle. Circle of Love. Complete. Composed of God, neighbor and self. "You shall love God above all and your neighbor as yourself."
Take one or the other, and you will have an incomplete, imperfect formula.
What do you think will happen if your car's machine lacks one part? It will not work properly for sure, and it may be even dangerous. So, it is the same here, if we love only the two (God and neighbor) and hate ourselves, it will not simply work. If we love our Self and Neighbor only, and hate God, it too will not work. If we love our Neighbor but hate God and Self, it too will not work. And so on and so forth.
It has to be compassing all. All-encompassing. All-embracing. All-including.
That is perfect love.
We are fortunate to have our Father placed it in His New Revelation. That we are to love God 600fold, our neighbor 60fold and our selves 6fold.
Never did He tell us, still less commanded us, to hate our selves.
What He told us is only to love ourselves less so we can love God and neighbor enough.
For we have loved ourselves too much, but in the wrong manner, which is tantamount to actually harming ourselves, instead of loving ourselves. Hence, the term "perverted love".
The New Revelations show us how to love ourselves correctly and sufficiently.
The knowledge revealed in the NR worked. It works. It will work.

Re: Self Love
First and foremost, self love is selfish, and selfish is one of Satan's attributes. Our Lord bestowed us the holy commandment: "Love God above all and your neighbour as yourself". You are not supposed to love anything or anybody above God and our Creator, who created us, the universe, animals, minerals, vegetables to live-by should come first, then your neighbour: meaning another human being as yourself.
Love towards yourself should be equal to love towards another human. If you love God, never will you ever commit a sin. If you love your neighbour never will you ever rob, look down, kill or sell alcohol to another human.
These love originates from God and progress to us human beings. Self love leads to arrogance, desire and addiction to rank amongst humans. God is love, and we are also taught in church to share with others what God gave us at the time of Eden and chose to abandon, which is LOVE! If you want eternal life you have to strive for perfection, Jesus Christ set an example for us at His time on earth and also look at apostle Paul.
