- Chapter 3 -

Deliver me, O Lord

(2 Samuel 15:13-29)
1
A PSALM OF DAVID, IN HIS FLEEING FROM THE FACE OF HIS SON ABSALOM. YHWH, how my distresses have multiplied! Many are rising up against me.
2
Many are saying of my soul, “There is no salvation for him in God.” Selah.
3
And You, O YHWH, [are] a shield for me, || My glory, and lifter up of my head.
4
My voice [is] to YHWH: I call and He answers me from His holy hill, Selah.
5
I have lain down, and I sleep, || I have awoken, for YHWH sustains me.
6
I am not afraid of myriads of people, || That they have set against me all around.
7
Rise, O YHWH! Save me, my God! For You have struck all my enemies [on] the cheek. You have broken the teeth of the wicked.
8
This salvation [is] of YHWH; Your blessing [is] on Your people! Selah.

Deliver me, O Lord

(2 Samuel 15:13-29)
1
LORD, how my adversaries have increased! Many are those who rise up against me.
2
Many there are who say of my soul,There is no help for him in God.”(a) Selah.
3
But you, LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, and the one who lifts up my head.
4
I cry to the LORD with my voice, and he answers me out of his holy hill. Selah.
5
I laid myself down and slept. I awakened, for the LORD sustains me.
6
I will not be afraid of tens of thousands of people who have set themselves against me on every side.
7
Arise, LORD! Save me, my God! For you have struck all of my enemies on the cheek bone. You have broken the teeth of the wicked.
8
Salvation belongs to the LORD. May your blessing be on your people. Selah.
